ITSAPARK - BETTER CHOICES FOR YOU & THE PLANET.
Hey friends,
long time no see here on the blog! Today’s agenda is more than worth to return and talk about something I’ve been working on myself to improve not only in my own life but in my family’s life too. Which is…sustainability and a conscious lifestyle. Sensitive, yet such an important topic like never before! I have never openly shared my vision and thoughts on conscious living here before, but I do have something to share.
I’m glad that my current collaboration with ITSAPARK, which is apart from being a newly-launched inspiring project itself, has served as an amazing opportunity to break the ice.
Like many others on social media, I have never explicitly shared my journey towards a more conscious life, however, I have always shared some thoughts and ideas here and there, mainly because being conscious and sustainable is mostly seen in black & white colours. How many judgemental comments have you seen especially on social media saying something like “Ah what kinda conscious lifestyle are you talking about if you still buy from fast fashion from time to time? “ or “reusable packaging is not enough to claim you live sustainably“. This made me feel like no matter what you do in order to become more sustainable and eco-friendly, it will never be enough. This is far away from the truth, however. Like life itself, a sustainable way of living is complex and simple at the same time.
There is no right or wrong. There are rather small steps and changes one can make to become a bit better. So rather than approaching this topic in black & white, let’s try to inspire each other to make small changes in every small aspect of our life, be it buying fewer clothes but better quality, creating less waste, or simply going to a grocery store with a reusable cotton bag. All these matters, because small steps do count.
I believe that living a more sustainable life is a journey by itself.
That’s why ITSAPARK philosophy spoke up to me immediately I got to know this project is about to launch.
The expression “yep, that counts” is Itsapark’s way to celebrate how better choices make us all progress.
WHAT IS ITASPARK?
ITSAPARK is a multi-brand destination curating sustainably driven products and services. In two words ITSAPARK is offering us better choices in fashion, beauty, living and wellness. How? By curating every piece through their sustainable criteria focusing on responsible materials, circularity, community support and accelerating change. I truly believe that any change can be reached by small steps being taken constantly. Thanks to ITSAPARK and their Make It Last Kit I got to know at least 3 new truly useful services, that I’m sure will bring a positive change to my lifestyle.
WHAT IS MAKE IT LAST KIT?
This kit is all about saving our favourite items more easily.
In 3 words it’s about commitment, clean and repair.
Here are the goodies you’ll find inside and here why they are helpful:
1. Cleaning tabs and laundry detergent from Kleany.
The cleaning tabs are simply an amazing idea because you only need 1 bottle and whenever you run out of a dishes detergent, just put this tab into a bottle with water and get your detergent ready, without buying an entirely new product. Their laundry detergent is also tested to contain fewer chemicals, therefore is more eco-friendly.
2. Sewing kit by H&M.
How often do you repair your clothes? Giving a second chance to your beloved clothes is so easy, yet contributes to a circular lifestyle making it too important to neglect. Repairing your clothes doesn’t need a separate sewing kit, in fact some treads, a needle and scissors.
But let's admit it - repairing your old shirt by having these beautiful scissors beside is quite nice, isn’t it?
How often you do repair the clothes? I do it quite often, mainly repairing my daughter’s clothes. It's quite worth the process, as it teaches her to take care of things and clothes.
3. Cedar wood balls from Arket.
They will keep your closet moth-free. Such an easy idea actually, but so helpful.
These practical balls made of red cedar wood give cupboards and cloakrooms a fresh scent. Thanks to their super nice and natural scent, you will get such a nice feeling of you taking care of your clothes in a better way!
I love storing these cedar balls into my chest of drawers among the knitwear to maintain a fresh and natural scent.
3. Fabric spray from Cos.
This is a textile freshener spray and neutralises unpleasant smells and ensures that textiles stay fresh for longer.
With the spray, which consists of certified renewable ingredients, you protect the environment because you wash your clothes less.
The spay smells like bergamot, citrus, cedar and amber. Super nice and I’m so excited to be using it!
4. Shipping bag from Sellpy.
Now this is my favourite part from the Kit!
So here is the thing. You order this blue bag (75 l volume), put everything you would like to sell and ship it to Sellpy. They take all the rest - taking the pictures, putting your items online etc. You don’t need to do anything to sell your pre-loved clothing and will get 40% off the selling price.
And you can sell not only clothing but accessories, beauty, shoes, household appliances as well as electronics, sports and leisure items - all in good conditions.
I find this service a game changer because they save up your time and energy when selling clothes!
6. Fashion rental by Unownfashion.
This service is a true step towards a circular economy. Instead of buying a brand new piece, you can rent it either for 2 weeks or for 1 month! Awesome, right?
If this hasn’t sparked your interest in doing better choices for yourself and for the planet, then I don’t know…just check everything that ITSAPARK has to offer.
A better way of living is a journey and if it starts from small changes, then let’s make them together! Together is always fun, this is at least what I tell you my 5 y.o. daughter.
I hope this article has inspired you to try new products and services that hopefully will shift your way of living towards a more sustainable and conscious one for us and our planet too. Yep, small steps count!
Xx
